Job summary

Rock Entertainment Group is seeking a Shipping Assistant for Night shift to physically prepare items for shipment, determine shipment methods, and assist with receiving and shipping. The role requires inventory control experience, forklift operation, and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Night shift includes a $1 premium and a 6pm-6am schedule on a 2/2/3 rotation. Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma and 5 years related experience; SAP experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5 years related experience including inventory reconciliation.
• Experience in SAP or an ERP/MRP system is a plus.
• 5+ years related experience preferred.
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills are a plus.
• Team-oriented and cross-functional collaboration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare items for shipment, wrapping and banding per standards.
• Determine shipment method from notes and routing.
• Assist with receiving/shipping defective products.
• Maintain accurate records for shipments.
• Organize stock and stage for loading/unloading to maximize efficiency.
• Keep warehouse neat and organized.
• Assist in weekly inventory cycle counts.
• Back up the receiving clerk as needed.

Job description

The Shipping Assistant - Nights

Schedule: 6pm-6am on a 2/2/3 Schedule

Starting Pay: $20/hr with a probationary period of 3 months at which time depending on job performance could go up to $21.50/hr

The Night Shift gets an additional $1.00 premium pay

Duties and Responsibilities

• Physically prepare items for shipment, wrap and band per company standards & or CSIs.
• Determine method of shipment by checking the shipping notes and order routing.
• Assist with receiving and shipping defective products.
• Accurate record retention for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Assist with organizing stock, stage for loading and unloading trucks to maximize efficiency.
• Keep an organized and neat warehouse.
• Assist in weekly cycle counting of inventory.
• Will function as backup to receiving clerk but not limited to other shipping areas.

• This individual should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to pay attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal, time management skills and a proven track record as a team player are also required.
• Must have a strong forklift operating background.
• Must be able to operate basic shipping and receiving hand tools such as an electric bander, chop-saw, bolt cutters, power drill and shrink-rap machine etc.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma / Equivalent
• 5 years of related job experience including inventory reconciliation.
• Experience in SAP or equivalent MRP/ERP system (is a plus).
