Job summary

OPTI Staffing in Tigard, OR is hiring a Shipping Assistant to join a hands-on manufacturing team. The role coordinates shipping, packaging, receiving, and material movement, with a Monday–Friday day shift and $22 per hour.

You will use an MRP/ERP system, prep shipping docs for domestic and international shipments, and stay on top of deadlines. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in shipping/receiving or warehousing, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

About the Opportunity

OPTI Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Assistant to join a professional manufacturing environment in Tigard. This is a hands-on position responsible for coordinating shipping, packaging, receiving, and material movement while working closely with multiple departments throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with computer systems, able to stay on top of deadlines, and enjoys being part of a close-knit team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Process outbound shipments according to company and customer requirements using an MRP system
• Verify orders and shipping information and accurately enter data into the system
• Package products and prepare shipping documentation for domestic and international shipments
• Coordinate freight pickups and deliveries and communicate with carriers as needed
• Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records
• Read and follow shipment schedules to ensure orders are processed accurately and on time
• Occasionally drive to pick up or deliver merchandise
• Cross-train in Inventory and Receiving functions
• Assist the Inventory/Receiving team when primary shipping responsibilities are completed
• Work with Accounting, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments to keep operations moving smoothly
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or related experience
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• Experience using an MRP, ERP, or inventory management system
• Knowledge of shipping and packaging procedures
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to read and follow shipping schedules
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Willingness to cross-train and learn other areas of the operation
• Ability to stand and/or walk for most of the shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to successfully complete company-sponsored forklift certification within 90 days
