Triple-S Steel is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to read and execute work orders, verify goods, and meet customer requirements at our Texas facility. The role is non-exempt (hourly) and may require overtime to accommodate customer needs.

The position reports to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor and follows Safe Methods of Work. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with strong multitasking and communication skills essential for daily warehouse duties.

• Prior warehouse experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receives goods and verifies quality and count; reports discrepancies to supervisor per policy.
• Verifies and records all items loaded for receiving.
• Maintains receiving records for categories such as returns, dunnage, and pallets.
• Maintains shipment database to ensure orders are updated and billing documents are issued.
• Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
• Transports materials on the shipping dock with a hand truck or other equipment as needed.
• Loads trucks or railcars using a forklift.
• Performs other clerical duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE POSTION

We are seeking a motivated Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our location: This is a steel production equipment operator position responsible for properly reading and executing work orders to timely meet customer requirements. This non-exempt (hourly) position typically reports directly to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor and has no supervisory responsibilities. The position requires working in accordance with Triple-S Steel job requirements and Safe Methods of Work. Overtime hours may be required to meet our customers' needs.

• Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers' count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy.
• Verifies and records all items loaded for receiving.
• Carefully and accurately maintains receiving records for requested categories including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets.
• Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.
• Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
• Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
• Loads trucks or railroad car using a forklift.
• Performs other clerical duties.
