Job summary

Triple-S Steel is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our San Antonio location. The role involves reading and executing work orders, accurately receiving and recording goods, and supporting timely customer fulfillment.

Overtime may be required to meet customer needs. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, with responsibilities spanning receiving, data entry, and basic clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Prior warehouse experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive goods and verify quality and count against supplier’s records.
• Maintain receiving records for requested categories and goods returned.
• Maintain shipment data to ensure customer orders are updated and billing documents are accurate.
• Notify supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
• Transport materials on the dock using hand truck or other equipment.
• Load trucks or railcars using a forklift.
• Perform other clerical duties.

ABOUT THE POSTION

We are seeking a motivated Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our location This is a steel production equipment operator position responsible for properly reading and executing work orders to timely meet customer requirements. This non-exempt (hourly) position typically reports directly to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor and has no supervisory responsibilities. The position requires working in accordance with Triple-S Steel job requirements and Safe Methods of Work. Overtime hours may be required to meet our customers’ needs.

• Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers’ count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy.
• Verifies and records all items loaded for receiving.
• Carefully and accurately maintains receiving records for requested categories including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets.
• Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.
• Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
• Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
• Loads trucks or railroad car using a forklift.
• Performs other clerical duties.
