Job summary

Fassmer Service America LLC is seeking a dependable Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support marine service operations in a full-time capacity. You will handle receipt, storage, inventory control, and shipment of parts for vessels across the United States and internationally, working closely with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure on-time deliveries.

The role involves preparing shipments, generating documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, logistics, or inventory experience preferred but training may be provided.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Outlook/Excel/Word; experience with ERP or inventory systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, and ship spare parts orders to domestic and international customers.
  • Generate shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, export paperwork, and labels.
  • Coordinate shipments with UPS, FedEx, DHL, and international carriers.
  • Schedule freight pickups and deliveries.
  • Track shipments and provide updates to internal personnel and customers.
  • Maintain shipping records and documentation.
  • Receive incoming shipments, inspect for accuracy, and verify against POs.
  • Label, store inventory, and update ERP inventory transactions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment and follow OSHA procedures.

Position Summary

Fassmer Service America LLC is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support our marine service operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, inventory control, and shipment of parts and equipment supporting commercial and military vessels throughout the United States and internationally.

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will work closely with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure equipment, parts, and materials are received, staged, and shipped on time to support field service operations and customer deliveries.

  • Prepare, package, and ship spare parts orders to domestic and international customers.
  • Generate shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, export paperwork, and shipping labels.
  • Coordinate shipments through UPS, FedEx, DHL, freight carriers, and international logistics providers.
  • Schedule freight pickups and deliveries.
  • Track shipments and provide updates to internal personnel and customers.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
Receiving
  • Receive incoming shipments from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Inspect deliveries for accuracy, shortages, and shipping damage.
  • Verify received materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Report discrepancies to Purchasing and Operations.
  • Properly label and store received inventory.
  • Update inventory transactions within the company's ERP/inventory management system.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory of stock.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and assist with quarterly physical inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items.
  • Organize warehouse shelving, bins, and storage areas for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure proper identification and traceability of inventory.
Warehouse Operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Load and unload trucks and delivery vehicles.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures at all times.
Administrative Support
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • File shipping documents, receiving reports, and vendor paperwork.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Service Coordinators, Project Managers, and Technical Staff.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse organization and inventory accuracy.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, logistics, or inventory experience preferred but we are willing to train.
  • Valid driver's license required and must pass a background check.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems preferred (QuickBooks).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, DHL, or similar shipping software.
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
  • Experience with domestic and international freight shipments.
  • Familiarity with export documentation and international shipping procedures.
  • Experience in marine, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment industries.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and material handling devices.

Pay Scale
  • $18.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualification .
