Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a resilient Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support the Spaceport operations in a dynamic, compliance-driven environment in Houston. You will manage receipts, inventory records, and shipments while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include inspecting deliveries, loading/unloading with appropriate equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation in our ERP system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 4 years of experience.
• Deltek Costpoint and Government Property/Inventory experience are a plus.
• ERP experience and customer service background are desirable.

POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Shipping & Receiving Clerk who will primarily be responsible for supporting Axiom’s Shipping and Receiving team at our Spaceport location. Additionally, they will prepare and maintain records and correspondence associated with the conducting of inventories and accountability on government or customer owned equipment, in accordance with company directives, procedures management, and direction.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive, inspect, and document receipts using the company ERP system and understand proper storage and handling procedures
• Visually inspect deliveries for damage and notify management of discrepancies
• Safely and securely load/unload items, both palletized and unpalletized, utilizing vehicle lift gate, forklifts, and/or pallet jacks (powered and unpowered)
• Conduct the proper handling and transportation of hazardous materials of types and quantities not subject to DOT regulations
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area while complying and enforcing safety protocols
• Clearly coordinate and communicate with team members to understand and respond to priorities and needs
• Prepare critical flight hardware, hazardous materials, and Government Furnished Property for shipment, ensuring compliance with labeling, packaging, and regulatory standards
• Follow and enforce company operating procedures, work instructions, and best practices for vehicle/equipment operations, material handling, and shipping and receiving
• Review daily workload and troubleshoot discrepancies
• Participate in the conducting of physical verification and cyclic inventories as needed
• Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership
• Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle
• Perform additional job duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent school, with 4 years of experience
• Deltek Costpoint and Government Property/Inventory experience are a plus
• ERP Experience
• Customer Service experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Generally, an office or climate-controlled warehouse environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment. Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
