Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate to ensure smooth material flow in a fast-paced manufacturing facility in Illinois. You will verify incoming shipments, prepare outgoing orders, and maintain precise inventory using ERP systems, while supporting production needs.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading, operating forklifts safely, coordinating with carriers, and keeping the warehouse organized and compliant with safety policies.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in shipping/receiving and warehouse operations.
• Experience with forklifts and forklift licensing.
• Ability to operate RF scanners and ERP systems.
• Strong material handling and heavy lifting.
• Skid steer and pallet jack operation.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform shop math.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments and verify against purchase orders.
• Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and perform cycle counts.
• Operate forklifts and skid steer safely.
• Stage and pack components for shipment.

The Shipping & Receiving Associate plays a key role in ensuring materials, components, and finished products move efficiently through the facility. This role is responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, preparing outgoing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting production needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Shipping:Examine shipment contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to customer requirements and company standards.Create and verify shipping documents (packing lists, bills of lading, shipping labels)Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.Coordinate pickups with carriers (LTL, freight, parcel)Inspect finished goods for accuracy and quality before shipmentLoad trucks safely using forklifts or pallet jacksRequisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stockBuild skids and/or containers as required for protection and safe transport to their final destination.Pack disassembled components for shipment per instructions.Stage packed components for shipment.Receiving:Unload incoming materials and verify quantities against purchase ordersInspect incoming goods for damage or discrepanciesRecord receipts in the inventory or ERP systemDeliver materials to appropriate departments or storage locationsInventory & Material Handling:Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle countsOrganize warehouse and storage areas for efficiency and safetyReplenish production materials as neededFollow FIFO or other material‑handling proceduresGeneral:Operate a forklift within the safety procedures and policies prescribed.Regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.You should be proficient in:Skid Steer OperationShipping/ReceivingWarehouse ExperienceMaterial Handler ExperienceLoading and Unloading VehiclesTape Measure ReadingHeavy Material HandlingForklift LicensedPackaging ExperienceHigh School / GEDShop Math SkillsExperience in a Manufacturing EnvironmentBasic Computer SkillsMachines & technologies you'll use:RF ScannerSit-Down ForkliftPallet JackCircular SawERP SoftwareForkliftsBand Saw
