Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts to load, unload, transport, and organize materials.
  • Receive shipments, verify quantities, inspect condition, document accurately.
  • Prepare customer orders for shipment with labeling, packaging, and securing products.
  • Package, crate, and load materials per shipping requirements.
  • Maintain records of shipments and inventory in ERP systems.
  • Enter and update shipment, material, and inventory data in ERP.
  • Identify, label, and store incoming materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels to support production needs.
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventory as required.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with corrective actions.
  • Keep warehouse and shipping areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas are in good operating condition.
  • Follow safety policies and quality standards.
  • Communicate professionally with team members, leadership, vendors, and customers.
  • Build positive working relationships across departments.
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Description

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is an essential member of our operations team, responsible for managing the movement of materials, products, and supplies throughout our facility. This role ensures accurate receiving, inventory control, order preparation, packaging, and shipment of customer products while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving Operations
  • Operate forklifts in both indoor and outdoor environments to safely load, unload, transport, and organize materials, products, and supplies.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, inspect materials for accuracy and condition, and ensure proper documentation is completed.
  • Prepare customer orders for shipment by accurately selecting, counting, labeling, packaging, and securing products.
  • Package, crate, and load materials according to shipping requirements and customer specifications.
  • Verify and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Complete shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Enter and maintain shipment, material, and inventory information within ERP software systems.
Inventory & Material Management
  • Properly identify, label, and store incoming materials in designated locations.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventory activities as required.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with corrective actions.
Safety, Organization & Teamwork
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and shipping area.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas remain in good operating condition.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with team members, leadership, vendors, and customers.
  • Build and maintain positive, respectful working relationships across all departments.

Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous forklift operation experience required. Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
  • Experience working in a shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience using ERP software systems for inventory, shipping, or material tracking preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to accurately enter and maintain information.
  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to verify quantities, measurements, and inventory records.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
