Job summary

Aerotek in Avon, IN is seeking a Shipping Associate to ensure products are accurately stored, picked, packed, and prepared for shipment. You will use RF scanners, ERP systems, and various freight platforms to label, meter, and process orders on a Monday–Friday 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM schedule.

Job description

Job Title: Shipping Associate

The Shipping Associate ensures products are accurately stored, picked, packed, and prepared for shipment from the warehouse to customer locations. This role uses warehouse systems and various freight platforms to label, meter, and process orders while maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work environment. The position operates on a MondayFriday schedule from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all products are accurately stored in the warehouse according to established processes and locations.
• Accurately pick and prepare customer orders for shipping, following documented procedures and quality standards.
• Label and meter packages using various freight systems to ensure correct routing and on-time delivery.
• Process orders using the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to record, track, and complete shipping transactions.
• Perform daily preparations for the next days shipping activities, including organizing inventory, staging orders, and verifying documentation.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment within the warehouse at all times.
• Support divisional initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
• Follow all applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies while performing warehouse and shipping activities.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership to resolve issues related to inventory, shipping documentation, and order accuracy.
• Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and dress code requirements while working on the distribution center floor.

Essential Skills

• Experience with inventory handling in a warehouse or distribution environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse and distribution center environment, focused on inventory storage, picking, packing, and shipping operations. You will work a consistent MondayFriday shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The position involves regular use of RF scanners, an ERP system for order processing, and various freight systems for labeling and metering packages. The facility emphasizes safety and cleanliness, and employees are expected to help maintain an orderly workspace. Dress code requirements include closed-toe shoes and long pants worn at waist level, with shorts not permitted. Hats of any type are prohibited. Hooded sweatshirts are allowed, but hoods must remain down. Tank tops and cutoff shirts are not allowed, and shirts must not display slogans, pictures, words, or images that could be interpreted as offensive. Sunglasses are not permitted on the distribution center floor. The environment is structured, safety-focused, and aligned with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).

This is a Contract position based out of Avon, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
