Job summary

Job description

Job Summary

This position is a Shipping/Receiving coordinator in our business support group. The role requires a strong understanding of the transportation process and its interface with business, production, warehousing, and shipping. Effective time management, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills are essential. The coordinator will direct or assist in directing the allocation of incoming supplies and outbound finished products while staying current with transportation technologies to minimize cost.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety rules/regulations are adhered to during the shift.
  • Execute established material handling processes to ensure materials are shipped, received, and located properly and timely.
  • Handle transportation details in contracts and requirements, including pricing discounts or fees.
  • Verify the quality of received products in accordance with the company’s quality systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on shipping & receiving related process performance and address general issues.
  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Verify quantities and item numbers against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer and internal orders for shipment.
  • Generate shipping documentation (packing slips, BOL, etc.) and coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL, freight) for pickups.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and location tracking.
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners safely.
  • Communicate verbally and/or in writing with leadership when necessary.
  • Participate actively in the company’s continuous improvement plan for future growth.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Maintain an attitude that consistently represents the organizational culture, including mission, vision, and core attributes.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by manager.
  • Support Lean Business Enterprise initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.

  • Understanding of US, Canadian, and Mexico border crossing regulations.
Qualifications

Availability

Monday – Friday 7:30am–4:30pm; OT as needed.
