Job summary

VeeRteq Solutions Inc. in Ypsilanti, MI is seeking a Shipper/Receiver for a full-time, on-site role paying $18.02 per hour. Responsibilities include loading and unloading, staging shipments, inventory checks, and completing shipping paperwork.

Must operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts, use Word and Excel, and follow safe warehouse procedures. Outdoor work and lifting up to 40 lbs are required. Strong reliability and a track record of limited job changes (no more than four in ten years)

Qualifications

• Experience operating sit-down or stand-up forklifts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiar with safe warehouse procedures and regulations.
• Limited job changes: no more than four jobs in the last 10 years.
• Experience in material handling, shipping/receiving, inventory control, and general warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate with the Shipping & Receiving team and Manufacturing regarding deliveries and shipments.
• Stage, load, and unload inbound and outbound shipments.
• Verify and receive products into the inventory system.
• Identify and correct shipping and receiving discrepancies.
• Process materials and work-in-progress (WIP) according to work instructions for finished pallets, rolls, and crates shipped to internal and external customers.
• Complete shipping and receiving paperwork accurately.
• Ensure all internal and external customer requirements are met for inbound and outbound freight.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Shipper/Receiver:

• #1. Must have at least one year of experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• #2. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• #3. Must be familiar with safe warehouse procedures and regulations.
• #4. Must have no more than four jobs in the last 10 years.
• #5. Must have material handling, shipping/receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations experience.

Responsibilities for the Shipper/Receiver:

This position is responsible for general warehouse operations, loading and unloading materials on trucks, preparing pallets for outbound shipments, and maintaining stock and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and communicate with the Shipping & Receiving team and Manufacturing regarding deliveries and shipments.
• Stage, load, and unload inbound and outbound shipments.
• Verify and receive products into the inventory system.

Requirements for the Shipper/Receiver:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Material handling experience required.
• Minimum one year of experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• Clamp truck experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Experience completing daily equipment inspection checklists.
• Familiarity with safe warehouse procedures and regulations.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must meet attendance requirements.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch throughout the shift.
• Demonstrated ability to produce accurate work.
