Job description

Shipper/Receiver

Location: Kent, OH, US, 44240

Work Arrangement: Onsite

As a manufacturer of gear pumps, pelletizing and filtration systems and also pulverizers we offer top-grade equipment for your demanding requirements – not only for polymer applications, but also for the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food industries.

The shipping/receiving clerk provides the initial inspection of incoming commercial items from suppliers and the final quality check on the orders shipped to the customer. They help to promote the high standard of customer service that Maag has built, ensuring that all orders are received accurately and shipped on time to our customers.

Responsibilities
  1. Execute the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
  2. Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  3. Operate a forklift to load/unload trucks and to remove/replace items on inventory shelves.
  4. Inspect, identify, tag, and receive all commercial items ordered from suppliers.
  5. Pack items securely for shipment on UPS, Fed-Ex, DHL, and truck shipments.
  6. Use the current business system to print packing slips and identification tags for sales orders.
  7. Work with purchasing to resolve discrepancies on incoming shipments from suppliers.
  8. Pull, issue, and deliver items for Production orders, spare part orders, projects, and inventory.
  9. Maintain an accurate inventory transaction in SAP.
  10. Operate a handheld scanner.
  11. Maintain a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
  12. Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
  13. Cycle count warehouse inventory daily.
  14. Maintain and apply 5S and Lean concepts in designated work areas.
  15. Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

The incumbent considers all interests of quality, accident prevention, and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, material, and environment actively.

While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in a warehouse situation and subject to changing environmental conditions, including, but not limited to: temperature variations, humidity, rain, snow, wind, and direct sunlight.

Education

Mandatory:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills to advance in the company.
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP R3 a plus.
Professional Experience

Mandatory:

  • Possess a valid forklift license or willingness and ability to obtain license.
  • Ability and willingness to work on multiple projects at the same time.

Schedule
