BAE Systems Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard is hiring Journeyman‑level production Shipfitters and mechanics to support the Submarine Program. Positions available for day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate submarine components such as structural parts, deck plates, bulkheads, and foundations based on NAVSEA drawings.
• Read and interpret basic welding symbols and Military Standards 22‑D, 1688, and 1689.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Pass an oxy‑fuel torch test covering setup, cutting, and beveling.
• Use overhead cranes and shop equipment such as an iron worker, break press, and plate roller.
• Work weekends and various shifts as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years shipyard journeyperson‑level experience.
• Ability to fabricate components with minimal direction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Previous experience with overhead cranes and shop equipment (training provided for cranes).

Pay and Benefits
