Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of shipyard journeyperson-level experience.
• Ability to fabricate components with minimal direction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Previous experience with overhead cranes and shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate submarine components based on NAVSEA drawings.
• Read and interpret basic welding symbols and Military Standards.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Pass an oxy-fuel torch test covering setup, cutting, and beveling.
• Use overhead cranes and shop equipment such as iron worker and plate roller.
• Work weekends and various shifts as required.
