Job Description

Are you seeking a rewarding career with a company that supports those who protect us? BAE Systems may be the answer to your search. We are currently seeking to hire a Shipfitter/Fabrication Craft Supervisor to support our 1st and 2nd Shifts.

Primary Duties

1. Supervise manpower and material to support schedule milestone requirements.
2. Review project schedules and budgets during ship availabilities.
3. Control labor and materials.
4. Ensure that assigned production work is completed on schedule and within budget.
5. Participate in the planning process and direct personnel, assigning work accordingly.
6. Ensure skill level of personnel meets job requirements.
7. Ship check and estimate work as required.
8. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
9. Other duties as assigned by Craft Manager.

Leadership Responsibilities

As a Supervisor of the Shipfitter/Welder Craft Department, you will oversee trade personnel, lead the department to complete work within budget and on time, coordinate with other craft supervision, manage work planning and scheduling, and develop staff through training and discipline.

Shift and Requirements

The selected candidate must work 1st shift. Requirements include:

• 8+ years with high school diploma
• 8+ years with associate degree or equivalent experience
• 4+ years with bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 8 years in shipyard trade or fabrication experience
• Previous leadership experience
• Technical knowledge in ship fitting, welding, blueprint reading, NAVSEA specifications, and relevant standards
• Ability to read and interpret technical and regulatory documents
• Physical ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to Naval Station Mayport and DBIDS card

Additional Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, assist with workflow planning, train staff, manage costs, maintain machinery, and ensure procedural compliance.

Pay and Benefits

Salary range: $71,600 - $121,700. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, and other perks.
