Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. seeks a Test and Trials Manager to lead dock and sea trials for all vessel equipment and systems. You will plan, coordinate, supervise, execute and document testing to ensure customer, classification society and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of direct experience plus 5 more in shipyard management, with strong knowledge of shipboard operations and the ability to train inspectors and interface with customers and management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years direct experience with an additional 5 years in a shipyard management-type role.
• Extensive sea trials or shipboard operations experience.
• Strong supervisory capabilities and coordination of testing activities.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and develop inspection programs.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Analyze specifications to determine testing requirements.
• Develop and support testing procedures in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and coordinate all testing and sea trials to meet customer, classification society and regulatory acceptance criteria.
• Address inquiries from customers and regulatory body agents regarding vessel testing.
• Maintain and organize testing documentation and submit standard and special status reports as required.
• Identify and address deficiencies uncovered during testing, working with engineers on corrective actions.
• Supervise, instruct, and evaluate foremen and/or craft workers involved in testing processes.
