Job summary

Leidos Defense is seeking a Quality Engineer for our San Diego, CA office with flexibility to be based in Chesapeake, VA. The role supports the Quality Assurance Department for NAVSEA SQQ-89 A(V)15 and NIWC C4ISR installation programs.

The position requires 4+ years in shipboard electrical/electronic QA, DoD Secret clearance, and the ability to travel or support installations as needed. Strong communication and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering/Assurance or equivalent.
• Requires 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
• 4+ years in shipboard electrical/electronic installations and QA.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Must have a valid US Passport.
• Proficient with MS Office and strong communication.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA oversight and inspections on electrical, electronic, and mechanical system installation projects for DDG and CG class ships.
• Assist team leaders and project managers with installation QA/QC and testing.
• Monitor and ensure installation items meet contract, SOW, and NAVSEA requirements.
• Be a quality liaison between ship force, shipyard, and NAVSEA personnel to resolve issues.
• Develop and review quality plans of action for each project per NAVSEA requirements.
• Develop, review QA test/inspection workbooks and documentation per NAVSEA 009-04 and related specs.
• Prepare Quality Control Reports and input data into the inspection system database.
• Apply corrective and preventive actions and root cause analysis (A/B/C/D).
• Support installation and wiring of shipboard systems and components including connectors, fiber optics, CAT5, and power panels.
• Perform I, V and G tests and inspections on connectors, fiber optics, and electrical equipment.
