Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist/NDT Level II to support ship, submarine, and shore activities in Chesapeake, VA. You will lead QA and safety surveillance, develop QA workbooks, conduct internal audits, and perform NDT inspections to ensure compliance with NAVSEA, OSHA, and EPA standards.

A DoD SECRET clearance and 4+ years NDT/QA experience are preferred. You will coordinate safety walkthroughs, maintain documentation, and prepare reports.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to gain and maintain access to US Govt. facilities and private Shipyards (DBIDS).
• A NDT Certification (Level II).
• IDS/CAC for access to Government facilities, US Government.
• High School diploma/GED with 6+ years in the field or a Bachelor’s with 2+ years in maritime industry.
• 4 years of structural/NDT experience.
• Knowledge of NAVSEA standards and QA/Safety requirements as per TS 9090-310.
• Experience supporting U.S. Navy Systems Commands.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to build rapport.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for quality control and safety surveillance to ensure compliance with Serco’s QMS and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, update and audit QA workbooks and objective evidence.
• Perform documented surveillances on workmanship quality and safety.
• Conduct QA process internal audits and complete audit reports.
• Oversee NDT Level II inspections and documentation.
• Conduct safety inspections in ships/submarines environments.
• Lead and direct the work of others.
• Initiate incident reports and corrective actions as needed.
• Track milestones for government tasks and reporting.
• Draft QA, Safety and Environmental procedures; respond to CARs.
