Job summary

Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a non-clinical trainer to collaborate with the Deployed Resiliency Counselor (DRC) and command leadership, embedding within shipboard environments to deliver integrated primary prevention programs and services.

The role develops prevention activities, conducts trainings, and supports deployment and homeport programs, with a 40% pay differential during deployment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of evidenced-based prevention programs.
• Experience in prevention program activities to prevent destructive behaviors.
• Ability to implement integrated prevention programs with management collaboration.
• Ability to identify, implement and evaluate prevention methodologies.
• Knowledge of military language, customs, and shipboard dynamics.
• Knowledge of stresses from separations affecting readiness.
• Knowledge of FFSP mission, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to deliver prevention training to diverse audiences.
• Ability to use data to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Ability to communicate with all management levels and personnel.

Responsibilities

• Establishes prevention activities at command and unit level with goals and milestones.
• Work with CRTs to identify risk factors and recommend preventive measures.
• Assist in prevention-based research.
• Coordinate primary prevention actions across programs and meet deadlines.
• Develop prevention efforts to support installation and unit needs.
• Execute core functions of an optimized prevention system.
• Serve as non-clinical trainer/educator with DRC and command leadership.
• Facilitate prevention classes focused on resiliency and military life challenges.
• Provide FFSC training across WFL, CAP, NGS, SAPR as needed.
• Present leadership on prevention efforts and impact.
• Deliver ongoing primary prevention training to build capacity.
• Deploy to deliver Departure/Separation and Return & Reunion workshops.
• Support homeport FFSC programs including emergency preparedness.
