Job summary

CACI is seeking a Field Engineer to design, install, and test shipboard network-based CCTV systems in a high‑threat environment. The role includes overseeing deployment, commissioning, and coordination with OEMs, marine engineers, and teams across locations.

Travel up to 50% (CONUS/OCONUS) with the ability to work in shipboard environments, supporting compliance with ABS and USCG regulations. Strong problem-solving skills and experience with network hardware are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• 5+ years as a field engineer supporting technical programs; relevant experience prioritized.
• Experience installing shipboard CCTV systems and networks with ABS/USCG compliance.
• Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, SIP.
• Knowledge of CAT5/5E/6, fiber optics, connectors; ability to fabricate equipment.
• Familiar with Windows/Unix operating systems.
• Proficient with Visio and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support CCTV System design, development, and proof of concepts in the DC region.
• Oversee deployment, installation, and testing of servers, switches, monitors, UPS, and PC hardware on ships.
• Coordinate installation of cables and equipment; manage onsite testing and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues during commissioning and assist junior engineers.
• Ensure timely completion of complex field assignments and coordination with other engineers.

The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a hard‑working mission minded individual who possesses expertise/experience with design and installation of shipboard network‑based CCTV systems. The selected candidate will be expected to work in shipboard environment and collaborate with OEMs, marine engineers, and industrial assistance. Although your primary role will be to oversee installation and commissioning of network‑based CCTV security systems, you will also be expected to provide measurable input into design elements of future systems.

Responsibilities:

Network Engineering Implementation Technician will support CCTV System design, development, and Proof of concepts initially in the Washington DC region. Up to 25% travel is required both CONUS/OCONUS for this position. The Field Technician/Engineer will bring familiarity and experience with network‑based CCTV systems and ABS and USCG regulations to successfully oversee implementation of deployment, installation, and testing of servers, switches, monitors, UPS systems, and PC hardware in a shipboard environment. The Field Technician/Engineer must have the ability to complete complex assignments without direction, and direct individuals and engineers that are junior level. The employee will ensure that systems are implemented in a tight timeframe.

Additional Field Engineer duties shall include but are not limited to the following:

• Evaluate shipboard environments for the installation of equipment
• Install and/or oversee installation of applicable equipment (with racks if needed)
• Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers
• Install and/or oversee installation of applicable cables
• Coordinate pick‑up and delivery of equipment
• Troubleshoot hardware and soft ware issues at commissioning
• Cybersecurity experience is a plus

Qualifications:

Required:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
• Requires 5 years’ experience as a field engineer supporting technical programs, however expertise, training and actual work experience with specific systems and/or technology is significantly more important than the number of years of experience in general I.T.
• Experience in installing, modifying, or maintaining shipboard CCTV systems and/or networks, including compliance with ABS and USCG requirements for electrical installations.
• Experience in IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP
• Working knowledge of CAT5-5E, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cable, connectors, and demonstrated capability of fabricating required equipment
• Familiar with Windows and or Unix type of Operating Systems
• Experience using VISIO and MS Office
• Ability to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.

Desired:

• Active Secret Clearance (or higher)
• Bachelors or Associate’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, and/or Networking.
• Industry Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
• Additional certifications regarding network security.
• Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches
• Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, to include installation/connection
