Job summary

CACI International Inc is seeking a Field Engineer to lead the design, installation, and commissioning of shipboard network‑based CCTV systems in the Washington, DC region. Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • 5+ years of experience as a field engineer supporting technical programs with relevant systems.
  • Experience installing, modifying, or maintaining shipboard CCTV systems and/or networks per ABS/USCG requirements.
  • Experience with IP services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, SIP.
  • Knowledge of CAT5–5E, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling and connectors; able to fabricate required equipment.
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or Unix operating systems.
  • Experience using Visio and Microsoft Office.
  • Physical ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl and lift up to 50+ lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Support CCTV system design, development, and POC efforts in the Washington, DC region.
  • Oversee deployment, installation, and testing of servers, switches, monitors, UPS, and PC hardware on ships.
  • Coordinate with engineers and junior staff; meet tight project timelines.
  • Evaluate shipboard environments and plan installations.
  • Install or oversee installation of racks, cables, and equipment; test on-site.
  • Coordinate equipment pickup/delivery and troubleshoot hardware/software issues during commissioning.
  • Cybersecurity experience is a plus.

Shipboard Network Engineering Implementation Support
The Opportunity

CACI is seeking a hard‑working, mission‑minded individual with expertise in design and installation of shipboard network‑based CCTV systems. The selected candidate will work in shipboard environments and collaborate with OEMs, marine engineers, and industrial partners. While the primary role will be to oversee installation and commissioning of network‑based CCTV security systems, the candidate will also provide measurable input into the design elements of future systems.

Responsibilities

Network Engineering Implementation Technician will support CCTV system design, development, and proof of concepts in the Washington, DC region. Up to 25% travel is required both CONUS and OCONUS. The Field Technician/Engineer will bring familiarity with network‑based CCTV systems and ABS and USCG regulations to oversee deployment, installation, and testing of servers, switches, monitors, UPS systems, and PC hardware in a shipboard environment. The employee must be able to complete complex assignments independently and guide junior engineers. The system must be implemented within tight timeframes.

Additional Field Engineer duties include:

  • Evaluate shipboard environments for equipment installation.
  • Install and/or oversee installation of applicable equipment (with racks if needed).
  • Perform on‑site testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers.
  • Install and/or oversee installation of applicable cables.
  • Coordinate pick‑up and delivery of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues at commissioning.
  • Cybersecurity experience is a plus.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • 5 years of experience as a field engineer supporting technical programs, with expertise, training, and actual work experience with specific systems and/or technology more important than general IT experience.
  • Experience installing, modifying, or maintaining shipboard CCTV systems and/or networks, including compliance with ABS and USCG electrical installation requirements.
  • Experience with IP services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP.
  • Working knowledge of CAT5–5E, CAT6, and fiber optic cable, connectors, and demonstrated capability of fabricating required equipment.
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or Unix operating systems.
  • Experience using Visio and Microsoft Office.
  • Physical ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds or more.
Desired:
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, and/or Networking.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or CCIE.
  • Additional certifications in network security.
  • Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.
  • Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, including installation and connection.

Pay Range

Compensation and benefits are competitive and include healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education, and time‑off benefits. The national average salary range for this position is $63,300 – $129,700.
