Job summary

Serco is seeking a Marine Electrician in the Norfolk, VA area. The role supports cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations aboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations.

Responsibilities include assembly, wiring, troubleshooting, tests, data analysis, and design data compilation to support safe, compliant operations. Candidates must obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance, be a U.S. citizen, and have a High School diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• DoD clearance eligibility and ability to obtain/maintain a clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain.
• Background check and drug screening are required.
• Ability to work in drafty, noisy, high-heat environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and commute to Newport News, VA.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-standardized or partially prescribed tasks.
• Select/adapt standard procedures and equipment as needed.
• Perform independent work with minimal supervision; ensure technical adequacy.
• Assemble or install equipment or parts requiring simple wiring or soldering.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and verify repairs.
• Follow diagrams to construct simple devices and subunits.
• Conduct tests and record data with standard equipment.
• Analyze data, identify inconsistencies, and present findings.
