Job summary

Serco is seeking a Marine Electrician to support cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations aboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in Norfolk, VA.

You will assemble, fabricate, and install electromechanical assemblies offshore, applying safety practices as you work on complex electrical systems. Key functions include interpreting diagrams, testing with standard equipment, and documenting data while maintaining readiness for second shift and potential extended hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Background check and drug screening.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience; shipboard experience preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and repair electrical cables and equipment on ships and military installations.
• Read and follow layouts and diagrams to install simple devices and subassemblies.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and test using standard equipment; document results.
• Perform safety-conscious tasks in high heat, dusty, or noisy shipyard environments.
• Travel up to 10% and access various work locations including Newport News, VA.
