Job summary

KBR seeks a Shipboard COMSEC Equipment Technician to install, test, and repair multichannel communications gear aboard ships. You will mentor junior technicians and support USMC/Navy missions with timely repairs and maintenance.

Requires electronics education or equivalent, 4+ years related experience, and ability to obtain CAC/Base Access and a Secret clearance. Passport is required for international postings.

Qualifications

• AA degree in electronics or equivalent certification is required.
• Four years of directly related work experience is required.
• Completion of the Multi-channel Equipment Technician Course or equivalent.
• Completion of the Technician Theory Course or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of high school algebra or equivalent.
• In lieu of a degree a combination of college credits, other training or education and related work experience may be considered.
• Basic knowledge of electronic circuitry and practical applications to repaired systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, technical orders, and manufacturer specs.
• Ability to comply with methods, quality standards, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, and repairs multichannel communications equipment for high-capacity, point-to-point links.
• Provides technical guidance or training to lower level repairers and assists higher level repairers.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Education

AA degree in electronics or equivalent certification

Four years of directly related work experience

College credits or other formalized training + related work experience may be considered

High school algebra (one year) or equivalent
