Job summary

KBR is seeking a Shipboard Communications Security (COMSEC) Equipment Technician for duty aboard ships and related assignments. The role involves installing, testing, and repairing multichannel communications gear used for high-capacity point-to-point links.

The position requires an AA in electronics (or equivalent) and four years of related experience, plus completion of essential courses. Candidates must hold US citizenship, a valid passport, CAC, base access, and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• AA degree in electronics or equivalent certification or training.
• FOUR years of directly related work experience.
• Completion of Multi-channel Equipment Technician Course or equivalent.
• Completion of Technician Theory Course or equivalent.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain CAC, base access, passport, and Secret Clearance.
• Basic knowledge of electronic circuitry, principles, and formulas.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, technical orders, and manufacturer specifications.
• Must maintain a valid passport.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, and repairs multichannel communications equipment used for high capacity, point-to-point communications.
• Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level repairers and assists higher level repairers.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
