Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent marine engineering degree.
• USCG Merchant Marine Third Assistant Engineer (unlimited) license.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance is desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Manages an online database for all jobs.
• Validates work requests and plans prioritized work packages within TYCOM budget.
• Oversees repairs and provides input for maintenance funding decisions.
• Meets daily with ships’ crew, department heads, and commanding officers.
• Reviews maintenance plans and recommendations to support TYCOM decisions.
• Develops agendas and presents details on the Planning Board for Maintenance.
• Performs weekly ship checks and maintains assessment discussions.
• Ensures compliance with TYCOM funding controls and business plans.
