Job summary

Q.E.D. Systems is seeking an Engineering Specialist 4 (Ship Checker) in San Diego to support ship checks on Navy vessels, validate work notifications, and document findings with sketches and photos for planners.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, and readiness for 10% overseas travel; HS diploma and technical training are required, with an Associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; two years of technical/vocational training or Navy experience.
• Candidate should have at least two years of education in a technical/vocational program; Associate degree preferred.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance and valid passport.

Responsibilities

• Perform ship checks onboard Navy vessels and document findings.
• Identify interferences and provide scope for work item development.
• Capture sketches and photographs and file reports in PDF.
• Travel up to 10% overseas; comply with security requirements.
