Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to gain the necessary skills, completes basic management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion, trainees are considered for promotion to supervisory roles that support store management in executing store operations and enhancing customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads staff, ensures smooth store operations, and manages opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff
   • Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and follow up
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, issues, and complaints
   • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, help, thank)
   • Handle customer relations per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
   • Maintain customer confidentiality

Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer skills. Strong communication skills. Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail (preferred)

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 25

Time Type: Part time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
