Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing work as directed to gain experience, completing basic operations and management skills training, and learning about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These leadership roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew activities through assigning, directing, and follow-up
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank customers)
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
    • Maintain customer confidentiality
Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail
Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 20
  • Time type: Part-time
  • Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location
