Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing tasks as directed to gain experience in key aspects of store operations and CVS/pharmacy culture. Successful completion of the training makes candidates eligible for promotion to supervisory roles, which support store management in driving performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff and ensures smooth operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew activities through assigning, directing, and follow-up.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  5. Customer Service
  6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  7. Promote CVS's customer service culture—greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  8. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  9. Maintain customer and patient confidentiality.
Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated weekly hours: 20
Time type: Part-time
Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, location, and other factors.
