Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, completes training on key business aspects (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and learns about CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These leadership roles support store management in driving performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads the staff, ensures smooth operations, and manages opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  1. Customer Service
  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS customer service culture: greet, offer help, thank customers.
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer proficiency.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40

Time Type: Full time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, location, and other factors.
