Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to gain skills necessary for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic management and operations training, and learns about CVS/pharmacy’s culture and customer service focus.

Upon successful completion, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions, which support store management in driving store performance and customer loyalty. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management

• Work effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise staff by assigning tasks, directing activities, and following up
• Communicate effectively with management and staff

Customer Service

• Assist customers with questions, issues, and complaints
• Promote CVS’s customer service culture (greeting, offering help, thanking)
• Handle customer relations per company policy, fostering positive shopping experiences
• Maintain customer confidentiality

Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer literacy, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Anticipated weekly hours: 35

Time Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location. The actual offer will be determined accordingly.
