Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs work as directed to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management skills training, and learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for consideration for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the CVS Store Management team in driving store execution and performance while building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and is responsible for completing all opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise the store's crew by assigning, directing, and following up on all activities.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.

  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS's customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications and Requirements

Required Qualifications: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications: Retail experience.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Hours and Compensation: 28 hours/week, part-time; pay range $16.00 - $23.00/hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
