Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop supervisory skills, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.


Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the store management team by driving store execution and performance and enhancing customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.


Essential Functions

  3. Supervise store staff through assigning, directing, and following up on activities
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff

  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
  3. Promote CVS's customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical and computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.


Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.


Additional Details

Anticipated weekly hours: 40
Time type: Full-time
Pay range: $16.00 - $26.00/hour, depending on experience and other factors.
