Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform tasks as directed to gain experience for future supervisory responsibilities, complete basic operations and management skills training, and learn about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the store management team by driving store execution and performance, and by building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.

  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS's customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  4. Handle customer relations issues according to company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range is $16.00 - $23.00 per hour. Actual offers depend on experience, education, location, and other factors.
