Reports to Manufacturing Manager and supervises a designated shift comprised of employees engaged in the production, selection, and packaging of glass vials, cartridges, and other pharmaceutical and scientific laboratory glassware.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews operations of the proceeding shift, including status of jobs and equipment, production schedules, job change requirements, and availability of materials.
- Checks for proper machine operation, lehrs, packers, printers, and miscellaneous operations.
- Monitors production KPIs (scrap, downtime, job changes, etc.) ensuring effective resource allocation and employee development to meet company targets.
- Coordinates daily assignments of operators, hot end specialists, and packers. On evening shifts, coordinates maintenance and quality control.
- Coordinates the training of new employees on all machines and processes.
- Monitors Statistical Process Control using Infinity QS on designated processes, ensuring processes meet dimensional capabilities for Cp/Cpk.
- Ensures adherence to all quality objectives and standards.
- Maintains production records using SAP and verifies their accuracy.
- Tracks employee time and attendance, including attendance points.
- Ensures compliance with plant health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Supports GMS initiatives through team participation.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains open communication with all employees.
- Ensures accuracy of employee time and attendance records.
- Collaborates with Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and other departments internally; vendors and external facilities externally.
- Demonstrates behaviors aligned with GMP, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Wears required safety gear in designated areas.
- Available to work any shift.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; preferred Associates Degree in Management or Engineering.
- 3-5 years' experience in glass production or related manufacturing.
- Experience supervising employees.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow technical and administrative procedures.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control.
- Ability to read blueprints and use calipers and gauges.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
