Job summary

Stealth Startup is seeking a hands-on Data Collection Shift Manager to lead a team of robot operators on the factory floor and keep data collection shifts running smoothly in San Francisco. You will coordinate assignments, breaks, and handoffs to ensure uptime while maintaining safety and high data quality.

You will mentor operators, address bottlenecks, and work with engineering to resolve issues quickly, keeping operations moving in a dynamic robotics environment.

Stealth AI Robotics startup that's raised $100M+ from Tier 1 VCs is looking to hire technicians to help support their data collection efforts. Candidates will be supporting humanoid robots in a live data collection setting with the goal of maintaining maximum uptime.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands‑on Data Collection Shift Manager to lead a team of robot operators and keep our data collection shifts running efficiently. Our operators control robots to collect the training data that helps them learn real‑world tasks. You’ll make sure each shift is organized, operators are supported and productive, and we’re collecting as much high‑quality data as possible without compromising safety.

This is an on‑the‑floor leadership role. You’ll assign work, coach operators, spot bottlenecks, and coordinate with engineering to resolve issues quickly. You should be comfortable managing people, working with new technology, and keeping operations moving when things don’t go according to plan.

What You’ll Do

• Lead each shift. Coordinate operator assignments, breaks, task changes, and shift handoffs to keep collection running smoothly.
• Improve collection efficiency. Track usable data collected per hour, identify sources of downtime, and make practical changes that help the team collect more high‑quality data.
• Train and support operators. Onboard new team members, set clear expectations, and provide ongoing coaching on procedures, performance, and data quality.
• Keep issues moving toward resolution. Handle basic troubleshooting, flag robot or software problems, and work closely with engineering to get affected stations back online.
• Maintain safety, quality, and accountability. Ensure operators follow collection protocols and safety procedures, and document shift results, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.

What we’re looking for

• You have experience leading a shift or managing a frontline team in a fast‑paced environment, such as manufacturing, warehouse operations, logistics, or robotics
• You’re organized, dependable, comfortable using software and performance metrics, and able to give clear, constructive feedback
• You take ownership of problems and know when to solve something yourself versus escalation it

Nice to have

• Robotics or teleoperation experience is a plus, but strong people management, technical curiosity, and sound judgment are what matter most.
