Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital seeks a security supervisor to oversee frontline security and Public Safety staff. You will coordinate routine and emergency safety activities in line with policy and management directives, ensuring a secure work environment.

The role requires 4 years in security/public safety with firearm experience, completion of psychological screening, and relevant certifications within 1 year. Leadership of junior officers is expected.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 4 years general security/public safety exp with 2 years in a role requiring active firearms.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Certifications: IAHSS CHS within 1 year; carry non-lethal weapons; carry company firearm; maintain firearms/Taser/ASP Baton/mental health certs.
• P.O.S.T. certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise frontline security functions and Public Safety staff.
• Coordinate routine and emergency security activities per policy/management.
• Enforce Piedmont regulations and applicable state/federal laws; advocate crime prevention.
• Effect safe de-escalation of critical events and use sound judgment with escalated subjects.
• First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility; supervise and develop junior officers.

Responsibilities

Enforces all PHC regulations and applicable state and federal laws. Advocates crime prevention and a secure work environment through observation, interaction, and intervention. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects. First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Supervise and develop junior officers.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 4 years general security, military or other public safety experience required with two (2) years of experience in a related job where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or
• an equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force.

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (IAHSS) within 1 Year Required
• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required
• Carry company issued firearm Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed. Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
