Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, completes training, and learns about key business aspects, including customer loyalty and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are considered for promotion to supervisory roles that support store management in executing store operations and enhancing customer service. When no manager is present, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff
   • Supervise store crew by assigning and monitoring activities
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
   • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, assist, thank)
   • Handle customer relations per company policy to ensure positive shopping experiences
   • Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, retail experience, deductive reasoning, analytical and computer skills, and advanced communication skills. Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime is required.

The pay range reflects the base hourly rate or salary for the job grade, with actual offers dependent on experience, education, and location.
