Job summary

Reworld seeks a Shift Engineer licensed in Massachusetts to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our steam plant on assigned shifts. This role ensures reliability, safety and environmental compliance, with a clear pathway to leadership in operations and facilities management.

• Ability to work rotating shifts and meet physical demands, including climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Ability to wear full-face respirators and work in varied weather conditions.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the fuel processing system and operates boilers, turbines, and other steam plant equipment throughout the shift.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental permits, and operational procedures.
• Approve equipment removal for maintenance, issue safety permits, and oversee clearance processes.
• Lead and train shift personnel to maintain a skilled, flexible, and safety-conscious workforce.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergencies, directing necessary actions to maintain safe operations.
• Maintain active state and site-required licenses and certifications.
• Participate in projects to improve plant performance and efficiency.

About the role

We are seeking a Shift Engineer with a Massachusetts Second Level Engineer's License to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our steam plant during assigned shifts. Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $108,900.00 - $155,600.00 USD per annum
