Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is seeking full-time and part-time SHIFT SUPERVISORS to direct associate activities during shifts and ensure job expectations are met while maintaining policy and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have prior high-volume food service experience and be responsible for training, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $29.00 per hour and various benefits for full-time associates.

Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for full time and part time SHIFT SUPERVISOR positions.

Direct the activities of associates during a specific shift and oversee that assigned job expectations are completed while policy and procedure are maintained.

Schedule

Full‑time and part‑time schedules; days and hours may vary based on the needs of the business. More details will be provided upon interview.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing training and creating work schedules.
• Evaluating the performance of workers, rewarding high performers and disciplining employees who fail to meet reasonable standards of work performance.
• Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure the unit meets the expectations for quality, productivity and safety.
• Acts as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
• May act as a mentor, develop employees and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement within the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior high‑volume food service experience required.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year‑round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Business needs may vary from year to year.
