The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee security/control activities and staff in an assigned area, ensuring prisoner supervision and safety and preparing required records and reports.

Responsibilities include policy implementation for custody and security, directing staff, and ensuring proper training and adherence to emergency procedures. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage stressful situations in a correctional setting.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED certification required.
• 1 year as a detention officer and 2 years in field supervision preferred.
• College coursework in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred.
• Must be mature, flexible, able to command respect and handle mental stress.

Mansioni

• The Shift Supervisor assists in developing and implementing policies, procedures and regulations for custody, security and/or treatment of detainees/inmates.
• Responds to major unusual occurrences and provides prompt assistance to detainees/inmates.
• Promotes an atmosphere conducive to positive behavior and staff relationships through facility planning and supervision.
• Directs work of other employees, including hiring, evaluating performance, training and disciplinary actions.
• Makes assignments, reviews post orders and ensures procedures and emergency plans are trained and followed.
• Reviews disciplinary matters concerning staff and detainees.
• Reviews staff effectiveness and conducts regular facility inspections for policy compliance.
• Provides primary guidance on situational problems and refers more complex issues.
• Maintains daily logs and required records.
• Ensures attainment of facility goals and compliance with rules for security operations.
• Directs work and inspections of detainee/inmate staff and may provide supervision in other areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
