Job Description

Perform responsible work involving a variety of specialized assignments in a homeless shelter; do related work as required. The Shift Supervisor reports to the Security Manager. Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations required.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Train new security employees in all aspects of the facility.
2. Maintain security office and traffic intervention standards.
3. Assist Facility Manager with fire drills and emergencies.
4. Conduct rounds inside and outside the facility to monitor hazards, trespassers, and illegal activities.
5. Respond to requests for assistance from other Shift Supervisors.
6. Complete reports such as logs, incident, CPS, and others.
7. Monitor reception and security at the front desk daily.
8. Ensure safety and security of clients and staff.
9. Provide crisis intervention when needed.
10. Enforce workplace policies on drugs and smoking.
11. Attend and conduct meetings and trainings.
12. Back-up Security Manager as needed.
13. Check inventory of equipment daily.
14. Lead in emergency situations within the security department.
15. Perform responsibilities of a Client Care Monitor.
16. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

Associates Degree in social services, criminology, or related field; or equivalent experience. Knowledge of security systems. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Mandatory home phone number. Flexible availability.
