12-Hour Rotating Shift Supervisor – Decatur, IL
This is a full-time, exempt-level position.

Position Summary:
The Shift Supervisor plays a key leadership role, overseeing safety, quality, and production activities. You will lead employees during your shift, mentor front-line operators, and collaborate with contractors and colleagues to ensure safety and efficiency. This role offers an opportunity to lead, innovate, and optimize our production processes. The Decatur West Plant is a soybean and corn oil crushing and refining facility, including lecithin de-oiling and phospholipids processing. It is a union facility with 225 hourly and 130 salaried employees, part of a complex employing approximately 1500 plant operations colleagues and 1000 contractors in Decatur, Illinois.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate daily operations to ensure safety, environmental compliance, quality, and production goals are met.
2. Provide resources and training to employees for safe and efficient task performance.
3. Train staff on operational procedures, SOPs, safety practices, PPE, and policies.
4. Create and assign tasks based on team members' skills and experience.
5. Ensure safety through training, compliance, and leading by example.
6. Identify and address safety, environmental, and GMP hazards; conduct inspections.
7. Respond to colleague suggestions and concerns regarding safety, quality, and environment.
8. Maintain good communication and morale; inform management of issues affecting safety and morale.
9. Identify training needs, develop plans, and foster high job proficiency; provide positive reinforcement.
10. Evaluate performance and discuss disciplinary actions as needed.
11. Participate in meetings and evaluate management programs.
12. Analyze safety incidents and recommend improvements.
13. Perform production duties temporarily during emergencies or absences.
14. Perform similar or related duties as required.

Job Requirements:

1. Previous plant processing and leadership experience; union experience is a plus.
2. Bachelor’s degree preferred or high school diploma/GED with 4+ years relevant experience.
3. High School Diploma/GED required.
4. At least 2 years in a lead/supervisor role in continuous manufacturing.
5. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
6. Leadership and training skills; ability to build teams.
7. Good communication, organizational, troubleshooting, and record-keeping skills.
8. Willingness to learn and assume new responsibilities.
9. Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The pay range is expected to be between $58,100 and $108,000, depending on factors such as experience and location.
