Job summary

Touchstone Climbing Inc. in San Francisco invites an experienced Shift Supervisor to open and run our new Aisle 19 bouldering gym. You will manage front desk operations, handle complex membership questions, and ensure consistent, welcoming customer service for climbers and visitors.

You will train staff, coordinate events and classes, oversee facilities safety, and partner with management to deliver a positive member experience while building a thriving community hub in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to teach and engage groups of varying ages and abilities.
• Attention to detail and self-motivation.
• Comfort with computers and POS systems.
• Knowledge of climbing techniques.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willingness to obtain (training provided).
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended shifts.
• Available regularly during peak hours with the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead front desk operations and set a high standard for staff performance.
• Handle complex memberships and respond to inquiries with professionalism.
• Manage events, bookings, and staff scheduling for gym operations.
• Coordinate with management on incidents and safety procedures.
• Assist with social media, training, and guest services as needed.
• Supervise day-to-day tasks and ensure a welcoming member experience.
