Job summary

LeoForce in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced SMT Operator to lead surface mount technology operations in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. You will drive production performance, ensure product quality, and coach a team of operators.

Responsibilities include supervising lines, maintaining schedules, improving throughput and FPY, collaborating with engineering and maintenance, and ensuring IPC-A-610 compliance and ESD safety.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of SMT/PCBA manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards and electronics assembly best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and production schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Supervise daily operations of SMT/PCBA lines, including pick-and-place, screen printing, and reflow processes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of SMT operators, technicians, and support staff.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high quality and efficiency standards.
  • Monitor and improve key metrics such as throughput, uptime, scrap, and first pass yield (FPY).
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, partnering with engineering and maintenance teams as needed.
  • Support setups, changeovers, and line balancing to optimize productivity.
  • Enforce adherence to work instructions, ESD protocols, and safety standards.
  • Partner with Quality to ensure IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) compliance.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including process validation and operator training.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.
