Job summary

LeoForce is seeking an experienced SMT Supervisor to lead surface mount technology operations in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment in Nampa, Idaho. You will manage a team of operators and technicians, ensuring on-time delivery, high quality, and continuous improvement across all SMT processes.

The role requires 3+ years in SMT/PCBA manufacturing with supervisory exposure, strong knowledge of SMT equipment, and IPC/quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
• 3+ years SMT/PCBA manufacturing experience with 1+ year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of SMT equipment and processes; IPC standards familiarity.
• Ability to read work instructions, drawings, and production schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily SMT/PCB assembly lines including pick-and-place, screen printing, and reflow.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of operators and technicians.
• Ensure production schedules are met with high quality and efficiency.
• Monitor throughput, uptime, scrap, and FPY; drive improvements.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues with engineering/maintenance.
• Support setups, changeovers, and line balancing to optimize productivity.
• Enforce ESD, safety, and work instructions; ensure IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 compliance.
• Support NPI activities including process validation and operator training.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives for continuous improvement.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of SMT/PCB assembly lines, including pick-and-place, screen printing, and reflow processes
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of SMT operators, technicians, and support staff
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high quality and efficiency standards
• Monitor and improve key metrics such as throughput, uptime, scrap, and first pass yield (FPY)
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, partnering with engineering and maintenance teams as needed
• Support setups, changeovers, and line balancing to optimize productivity
• Enforce adherence to work instructions, ESD protocols, and safety standards
• Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including process validation and operator training
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred
• 3+ years of SMT/PCBA manufacturing experience, with 1+ year in a leadership or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of SMT equipment (pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, reflow ovens, AOI)
• Experience with SMT process setup, troubleshooting, and yield improvement
• Familiarity with IPC standards and electronics assembly best practices
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and production schedules
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility to support off-shifts or overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a high-mix, low- to medium-volume manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of specific equipment platforms (e.g., Fuji, Panasonic, ASM, Yamaha)
• Lean/Six Sigma experience
• ERP/MES system experience
