Job description

As a Shift Supervisor, 2nd Shift, you will oversee operators and equipment quality and production. You will complete face-to-face hand-offs with your counterpart between shifts and lead the Daily Tier I Group Meeting. You will ensure personnel adhere to PPE requirements and enforce all plant and department procedures.

This is a 2nd shift position, 3PM to 11PM.

Work onsite in Barberton, OH, reporting to the Global Process Technology Manager. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor safety, bag rates, and delivery performance against operational goals.
• Communicate shift report at shift end.
• Issue counseling for operators not following procedures or repeatedly failing to perform responsibilities.
• Monitor log sheets (PMs, housekeeping, tasks) for accuracy.
• Enter Work Requests into SAP and coordinate planned order changes.
• Manage maintenance outages, attend planning meetings, communicate plans, lock out equipment, and complete permits.
• Monitor operational LOTO for accuracy.
• Conduct silica testing during back shift.
• Obtain supplies from the store room, WESCO, or supply chain as needed.
• Perform departmental EH&S housekeeping audits as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years operational experience and 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Ability to understand process equipment operation and troubleshoot issues.
• Proficient in conducting quality tests on samples to meet customer requirements.
• Ability to multitask and plan ahead.
