Job summary

Chenega Security SBU seeks an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead a team of Armed Security Officers supporting the U.S. Government Publishing Office in Pueblo, Colorado.

You will oversee daily security operations, ensure contract compliance, mentor personnel, and maintain a secure environment for government employees, visitors, facilities, and assets. Qualifications

• Background and drug screening required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to Armed Security Officers on shift.

Chenega is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead a team of Armed Security Officers supporting the security operations of the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) in Pueblo, Colorado. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily security operations, ensuring contract compliance, mentoring security personnel, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for government employees, visitors, facilities, and assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, leadership, and direction to Armed Security Officers assigned to your shift.
• Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Conduct shift briefings and guard mount activities to communicate operational updates, post assignments, and special instructions.
• Coach and mentor personnel while addressing performance concerns and recognizing exceptional work.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for shift personnel and provide guidance on operational and personnel-related issues.
• Ensure security operations are conducted in accordance with contract requirements, post orders, government regulations, and company policies.
• Monitor officer performance and ensure all assigned posts are staffed and properly covered throughout the shift.
• Coordinate staffing adjustments due to vacancies, scheduled leave, call-offs, or operational requirements.
• Conduct inspections of posts, personnel, and security activities to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Ensure officers maintain proper appearance standards, equipment accountability, and operational readiness.
• Lead response efforts during security incidents, emergencies, and unusual occurrences.
• Assess situations, determine appropriate courses of action, and deploy personnel and resources as necessary.
• Immediately notify the Project Manager of significant incidents, safety concerns, and operational disruptions.
• Support investigations and ensure accurate documentation of incidents and activities.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Conduct security patrols, inspections, access control operations, and facility checks as needed.
• Oversee visitor management, employee screening, and access control procedures.
• Assist with traffic control, emergency response activities, and special security operations.
• Maintain awareness of ongoing activities and emerging security concerns throughout the facility.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Successfully pass background and drug screening. High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of security, law enforcement, military police, corrections, force protection, or related experience.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a security, military, law enforcement, or public safety environment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to successfully complete all required licensing, certifications, permits, and training.
• Ability to pass a Personal Security Background Investigation and NCIC check.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading security operations within a government, federal contractor, critical infrastructure, or industrial environment.
• Military leadership, Military Police, Security Forces, or law enforcement supervisory experience.
• Experience managing personnel scheduling and workforce deployment.
• Incident response and emergency management experience.
• Familiarity with access control systems, surveillance technologies, and electronic security platforms.
