Job Overview

Coordinates the daily activities of the Production Team to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency while developing a team environment. Provides a safe work environment through proper training and ensures product quality by utilizing statistical methods to control production processes. Direct responsibility for shift personnel in the assigned shift.

Accountabilities
  • Follow all established safety procedures in plant.
  • Track and direct all parts manufactured as needed for work order.
  • Train new associates, complete 30-60-90 day probationary period evaluations, and recommend discharge or retention.
  • Prepare all reports by thoroughly investigating accidents; interview witnesses and ensure injured employees receive medical treatment.
  • Manage housekeeping of the entire production area.
Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Overall direction, coordination, production, and safety of employees on the shift.
  • Supervise all mold techs, team leaders, and machine operators in their daily performance of job duties.
  • Verify all hours worked by associates are accurate in the attendance system and ensure all approved earned time off is properly recorded prior to payroll run.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance policy violations.
  • Document employee performance evaluations consistently.
  • Issue corrective action notifications for program areas failing to meet quality and delivery expectations in cooperation with Department and HR Managers.
  • Issue disciplinary actions warranted by violations of plant rules in cooperation with Department and HR Manager.
  • Approve or deny vacation requests after ensuring appropriate coverage for the shift.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • High school education.
  • Some college or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Clerical and computer skills and good verbal communication.
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 12 hours per shift, lift up to 40 lbs, climb steps or ladders, read labels, and hear equipment alerts.
Physical Requirements
  • Must stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift).
  • Must lift and carry materials up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing of steps or ladders.
  • Must read labels, print specifications, and hear in a moderately noisy environment.
  • May be exposed to ink fumes, cleaning chemicals, heat, humidity, and moderate to high noise levels typical of injection molding and printing operations.
  • Must navigate production and storage areas safely with good balance and coordination.
